UNESCO and Christian Dior Couture celebrate young female talents engaged for gender equality
Christian
Dior Couture and UNESCO are co-organizing the “Dream for Change” e-conference
to reinforce their partnership for education and gender equality and celebrate
the graduation of the class of 2020 Women@Dior (link sends e-mail) mentoring
programme.
The
e-conference, an online event (31 March, 13:00 CET) will have one thousand
young women from 25 countries attending and feature awards for best projects
from last year’s Dior mentoring programme. It also launches this year’s edition
of the mentoring programme on the theme of Women Leadership &
Sustainability.
Dior
is a member of the Global Education Coalition, established by UNESCO in March
2020 to support learning continuity during the COVID-19 pandemic and accelerate
the transformation of education systems around inclusion, resilience and
sustainability. This collaboration has enabled 200 talented young female
students from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Jamaica, Pakistan, the
Philippines and Sri Lanka to benefit from the Women@Dior (link sends
e-mail) mentoring programme. Over the course of a year, the online
programme, created in 2017, provides courses on autonomy, inclusion, creativity
and sustainability, and invites participants to create a project that supports
the empowerment of young girls.
In
addition to Women@Dior (link sends e-mail) graduates, the event
will feature the participation of UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, the
Creative Director of Dior women’s collections Maria Grazia Chiuri, Pietro
Beccari, CEO of Christian Dior Couture, Chantal Gaemperle, Group Executive Vice
President Human Resources and Synergies of LVMH Group, and member of the
LVMH Executive Committee, Emmanuelle Favre, Director of Human
